Military Police Battalion Company Operations Facility (COF) Fort Riley, KS

Building Science Innovations is pleased to release that the Military Police Battalion Company Operations Facility located in Fort Riley, KS and constructed by BSI's client Bristol Design Build Services passed the USACE air barrier requirements at a .187 rate of infiltration. This project was especially challenging as it was roughly 30,000 square feet (approximately 60 rooms) and an odd shaped structure, making air flow a difficult task. In addition to the oddly shaped structure, the building had 27 intentional high penetrations. These penetrations are unique issues that relate to penetrations from conditioned to non-conditioned spaces. Congratulations to Bristol Design Build Services for constructing another successful building!

TEMF - Fort Eustis, Virginia

Building Science Innovations was pleased to be a part of the Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facility (TEMF) project located at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Curtis Contracting, Inc. was the general contractor on this LEED silver project. The TEMF initally showed air leakage in a bench repair room of the building, but after futher deliberation between BSI team members and Curtis Contracting, a smoke test was used to find and then seal the leaks before running the final air barrier test. This building successfully passed the ACOE air barrier testing protocol!
